Wednesday Games The November lock-down is over from 2 December, however from 31 December, Lutterworth is in Tier 4 so only pairs can play. This changed on 5 January to full national lockdown with golf clubs closed. The revised winter schedule is here. This how we plan to play whilst we are in Tier 4.
As you are all now aware, Lutterworth is in Tier 4 that restricts us to playing in pairs only.
We have been allocated our Seniors reserved tee times from Wednesday 13th January. This means that we have 15 slots, for 30 players over 90 minutes. As this block is in ‘prime time’ from 10 o’clock, we think it would not be diplomatic to have other tee times booked before this.
I will be arranging various competitions suitable for pairs but not counting towards the eclectic as all seniors should be eligible to participate in this. When I set up the list of potential default players, I use a randomising function in Excel to create the sequence. This sequence changes every week. In the past I have used this to allocate groups and tee times. In order that we can fill all our slots, we will have to restrict this group to the Top 30 players in this random order. I will send this Top 30 out each week. If anyone lets me know that they do not want to play, then I will include those further down the list. I will freeze the Top 30 list at 5pm on Monday when I will allocate pairings and fill out score cards.
You can find the full details of how we are going to run the Wednesday competitions here. Remember, if you want to play in a Wednesday, you must e-mail Bob Howes by 5 p.m. Monday. From 14 October, you can collect your cards from the pro's shop and put them back in the box in the pro's shop after you have played.
Over the coming weeks, there are several different styles of playing, including individual stableford rounds that count towards the end-of-season eclectic. If you win one of the Wednesday stableford games, your swindle handicap will get cut with the up-to-date list here. This swindle list has been updated with the WHS handicap index, shown in green, and calculated for playing off the white tees. Wednesday Competition commentary
Bailey Putter 9/12/20 This was postponed due to the second COVID lockdown. However, another good turn out even if it was wet under foot and cold, but it was early December. A very close result as you can see below, with some welcome reductions in swindle handicap. First Mike Wheatley on 37, back 9 20 and last 6 13, so a reduction of 4 Second Ray Walsh also on 37 and 20 but only 11 on last 6, so a reduction of 3 Third Norman Beaumont also on 37 but a back 9 on only 18, so a reduction of just 1

Roy Pebody and Gavin Le Chat were the winners with a staggering 49 points - they win £40 each
