Hawstone Park Twenty four seniors went to Hawkstone Park for two rounds of golf.
Club Men's Invitation Day The winners were Andy Simmons (Northampton Golf Club) & Hugh Devlin, one of our regular Seniors, with the Professional Dan Bailey and Captain Phil Harbord. After a fantastic start of five pars and two birdies accumulating in seven straight three points the winners of the Mens Invitation Day BB Stableford had a wobble on the eighth when Andy went out of bounds and Hugh hooked his ball way left but they managed to scramble a single point. Andy holed some fantastic putts on the tricky pin positions of six and seven. Andy is a member of Northampton G C and commented how good the course looked and that the greens were fantastic. Hugh and Andy look forward to defending their title next year and enjoying again an exceptionally well run competition.
Ralph Tasker had his first ever hole in one at the Seniors match against Market Harborough.
Professionals Day June 9 Many congratulations to our members who did so well on Saturday:
Winner with 78 points (how on earth can you get 78 points?) - Paul Manns who seems to have won hundreds of £ of prizes! Narrowly pushed into third place on c/b - Chris Wells with 76 points - again with valuable prizes.
Good to see the Seniors' flag flying so high!
Another Hole in One At the recent away match against Cosby, Mick Shilcock got another 'hole in one'. However, because he is so used to playing at Lutterworth, he inadvertently played off the white tee. The Cosby team, because of this, did not recognise this feat. A bit churlish.
The Bill Patrick trophy competition has been re-arranged to Wednesday 4 July.
The pairings for the Collingtree away on 16 April is here. However, this day out was cancelled, along with several club fixtures, due the recent bad weather.
As in 2017, several of the seniors went again for a week's golf in Spain, details here.
